ABOUT SCOTT DAVIS

When asked where he’d be if he wasn’t making a living “Engaging Western Lifestyles”, Scott Davis replies with a smile, “In a mental hospital.”  And that, folks, says it all.

Anyone who knows Scott knows that his destiny has always revolved around one sport, one profession and one dream. He lives and loves every aspect of the cowboy lifestyle and, over the years, the Texas native has become familiar with all aspects of the industry.   From riding and announcing, managing and governing, breeding and selling - even acting and singing - Scott’s career path has taken him on a grand tour of the industry he loves.

Born in Houston, Texas in 1975, Scott grew up with a fervent love of the sport of rodeo and the culture of the southwest.  As a child, he competed in Little Britches Rodeos and would go on to participate in Intercollegiate Competitions as a student at Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas.  After graduating in 1997 with a BS in Agriculture, Scott realized his dream of riding professionally when he competed in PRCA rodeos.

During his three years as a professional bull rider, Scott learned that the sport he loved held a variety of opportunities for an aspiring, young cowboy. He began to explore the business side of the industry and, in 1999, joined Bob Tallman in Fort Worth, Texas as the General Manager of the Rodeo Stock Registry of North America, Inc. (RSR).  It was the beginning of what would become an expansive career.

While working in Fort Worth, Scott had a chance to explore yet another passion – music - when he became involved with the Fort Worth Songwriters Association.  Elected to the Board of Directors, Scott served for three years.  It was during this time that he wrote and recorded his debut CD, entitled That Guy, released in the fall of 2002.  The effort snowballed and the subsequent media promotion resulted in an audition for the hit TV series, Nashville Star.  Scott’s star was definitely on the rise.

Still very much respected for his business acumen, Scott was awarded a position on the Board of Directors of the newly formed National Bucking Bull Association (NBBA) in 2005.  Although his primary business was construction, Scott continued to breed and raise bucking bulls on the Blood Line Bucking Stock Ranches.  His involvement with NBBA allowed him to remain well connected to the industry and afforded several opportunities to announce at events and sales around the country.

In 2008, Scott found himself drawn back into the entertainment world and stepped back in front of the camera to work on a national advertising campaign.  The Dodge Ram Challenge, directed by critically acclaimed director, Tony Scott, paired Scott with country music star Jason Meadows in a web-based, reality style competition, complete with off-road obstacle courses and other challenges.

In 2010 Scott assisted iconic brand, Crown Royal, in developing, implementing and managing the innovative “Crown Royal Riders” which is a “Team” of Pro Rodeo Athletes that the brand leverages to compliment its involvement in Rodeos across the United States. Scott expanded his resume yet again when he accepted a position as Director of National Sales for the televised Championship Bull Riding Tour (CBR).  Responsible for Sales and National Sponsorships, Scott was honored to help promote the dynamic organization formed by bull riding icons, Tuff Hedeman and Terry Williams.  Under Scott’s guidance and support since 2007, the CBR has secured national endorsements from companies such as Mahindra Tractors, W-W Livestock Systems, Henry Rifles, O'Reilly Auto Parts, Captain Morgan Rum and Coors Light just to name a few, catapulting the newly formed business venture into the national spotlight.

In spite of his demanding travel schedule, Scott enjoys a peaceful life in Texas with his wife, Kirsten.  In his spare time, you’ll find him picking his guitar with friends, working his cattle, bucking his bulls, driving his convertible or at a rodeo somewhere - just soaking up the cowboy lifestyle he so loves.
